The performance is the result of a 2017 Arts in the Parks & Historic Sites grant. Craig (piano) will be joined by drummer Jeff Chapin. They will provide percussion instruments and invite young people to play along on some tunes as they explore the jazzy side of blues, boogie woogie and other styles, focusing on music by Indiana musicians, including Hoagy Carmichael. Craig will also talk about the history of the park. Other grant-funded performances are at Brown County and Clifty Falls State Parks, Paynetown at Monroe Lake, and T. C. Steele State Historic Site. Information about the grant is at http://craigbrenner.com/news. This activity was made possible, in part, with support from the Indiana Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency.
